UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: THE RETURN Sci-Fi Action
The original UNIVERSAL SOLDIER, Luc Deveraux (Jean-Claude Damme) returns, recovered and now
working as a technical expert on a government project to revive and improve on the Universal Soldier training
program. Eventually he has to do battle with a computer, Seth, who takes on the human form of Michael Jai White.
The plot is so simplistic on this film that it is covered in one simple word....ACTION...The movie begins with action,
has action in the middle and action at the end. That is all it has because the acting is sparse and in the case of
Heidi Schanz it is pretty bad. Van Damme's acting seems to be going downhill with each movie. He really should
do a non-action film just to show that he can act. There was one character, Squid, whom I thought did an
excellent acting job as a wacked out, drugged out computer programmer-nerd.
This is not a bad film and I did enjoy it for what it was just a fast paced, stunt driven action film. If you like this type
of film you will not feel cheated in the least. If you like wrestling action and hard muscular bodies you will definitely
like this film. Please note there are some brief non sexual nude scenes and lots of noise. Nothing more to say.
