| AUSTIN POWERS THE SPY WHO SHAGGED ME |
SYNOPSIS:
Mike Myers is back again as Austin Powers in a very funny sequel.
Are you ready? Are you ready?
Yes Austin Powers is back in AUSTIN POWERS THE SPY WHO SHAGGED ME an absolutely hysterical movie.
Austin Powers is back playing the photographer from the 60's who also happens to be an International Man Of Mystery.
The movie opens with a Star Wars like intro and quickly moves to Austin and Vanessa Kensington (Elizabeth Hurley)
on their honeymoon. He receives a big surprise which quickly turns him into a single man once again. Meanwhile
Dr. Evil returns to earth from his exile in space to hatch a new plot for world conquest using a time machine. We first
see him back with his son, Scott Evil on the JERRY SPRINGER show where we find they are a disturbed family, like
we didn't already know.
The scenes between Dr. Evil and his son, Scott are always very funny; it shows Myers at his best. Anyway, Dr. Evil
goes back in time, to 1969, to steal Austin's mojo so that our hero will lose his confidence. He succeeds and the fun
continues.
Fortunately, British Intelligence also has a time machine in the shape of a psychedellic Volkswagon Beetle, which
Austin uses to go back and rescue his mojo and twart Dr. Evil's new plan. Witht he help of CIA operative,
Felicity Shagwell(Heather Graham) he takes on Dr. Evil's henchmen as well as the most disgusting villian to hit the screen,
FAT BASTARD, played by Meyers. The make up on this character is phenomenal.
We are also introduced to Dr. Evil's clone, Mini Me which did not seem to grow correctly. He is a very good character and
plays off Dr. Evil beautifully.
This film is full of spoofs on James Bond films, Star Wars and even "In Like Flint". It is also full of what we will
politely call toilet humour. We have one very funny film here and if you like wild, silly humour, then this film is perfect fopr you.
Things to watch for are the tent shadow sequence and all the Fat Bastard scenes. AUSTIN POWERS, THE SPY
WHO SHAGGED ME will push Star Wars The Phantom Menace from it's number one spot. It is rare when a sequel surpasses
the original but I feel this one has. This is a perfect drive-in movie as well so go see it as soon as it comes to your neighbourhood.
Pl;ease note that sexual innuendo is hurled at you in abundance so if it offends you stay away. Otherwise the entire family will
get a kick out of it. Enjoy Mr. Meyers labours.
