Science Fiction What do you do when your TV series has been cancelled? Go west? No! Head out into space! |

GALAXY QUEST is obviously a tribute to those people who act in a popular series, and then through no fault of their own become relics struggling to outlive their creations. Kirk Allyn and George Reeves suffered and were never able to get rid of the stigma of being SUPERMAN. Story has it that this lead to Reeves death. When Joe Shuster, one of Superman's creators was introduced to Allyn, he turned on him and said, "So you're the bastard who ruined my career. Adam West never recovered from being BATMAN. If you want to find out about what happened to William Shatner after STAR TREK ended, read any of his book biographies and also "GET A LIFE". Once you read these you may appreciate this film even more. One neat thing in the movie is this large two legged pig creature. I swear this is the first time I have ever seen a BASIL WOLVERTON drawing brought to live. For those of you who know WOLVERTON'S art will appriciate this. Check out his website for his art... BASIL WOLVERTON ART GALLERY. The ending is also a Star Trek Convention fan's ultimate dream. It is a treat. Hey, I'm a fan and yes I went to many conventions in my youth so I can tell you that the ending would have knocked me down on my butt. Anyway, GALAXY QUEST will make a fine Christmas picture when it will be released on Christmas Day. It isn't going to break any boxoffice records, but you will like it. "Take the third star to the left." PS. Sigourney Weaver still looks great is a ripped shirt...even after all thes eyears...hubba hubba. |
