THE BONE COLLECTOR Thriller Two cops go on the trail of a serial killer who is out for revenge.

THE BONE COLLECTOR is definitely a grisly film with many grisly murders. I really like a movie that stumps me as long as possible. I must have missed something early in the movie because I could not figure out who the killer was until he finally made himself known. Most of the time I have the film figured out well before it gets to the denouement. So when a film surprises me then I really enjoy it. I think you will as well as long as the sight of gruesome images doesn't disturb you. Lincoln Rhymes (Denzel Washington) is a brilliant forensics detective paralyzed while on the job. Now he lays in bed on the verge of death until a strange serial murder case is brought to him. He specializes in forensics and was once the country's leading criminologist. Amelia Donaghy (Angelina Jolie), is a feisty street-smart policewoman who discovers the first recorded murder and is drafted into becoming Rhymes eyes and ears to capture the killer before he strikes again. They fail and a few more grisly murders are committed. At each murder the killer leaves clues and cryptic messages. They are obviously left to show that the killer is better than the police or Rhymes himself. Their brilliant minds and observation skills are rigorously tested before it gets to the finish. The serial killer commits murders according to an old turn of the century book called THE BONE COLLECTOR. He seems to know his adversaries and taunts them with clues that are meant to pique their curiousity. Who is the killer? Well see if you can figure it out before it gets to the finale. The excellent script gives well defined characters and a story that keeps us on the edge of our seats. After all, a good thriller should do just that. THE BONE COLLECTOR delivers the goods all the way. It definitely deserves the restricted rating so do yourself a favour, don't try to sneak in the kids. I went and took the wife to see it a second time. It still held up and I tried to find clues that would have led me to the real killer...nope...still hard to find. Good movie.
