Fantasy Comedy
The Little family have just adopted a new Little.
If you are talking sweet and adorable then you are talking STUART LITTLE. It comes straight from the printed page on to the screen and I think most of you will agree that director Rob Minkoff did a marvellous job. This is a children's film that will make the adults laugh and feel good. I took my two young nieces and and they just loved it. This film is a keeper and it will do quite well as a Christmas picture. Video sales and rentals will do good by STUART LITTLE.

Michael J. Fox does the voice for Stuart beautifully. This is the sweetest looking mouse that I have seen on the screen. When that little critter smiles it just makes you melt. They seem to have gone to a lot of trouble to make him move like Fox. The computer graphics have brought to life and blended him into the scenes, seamlessly. All the cats are real but they have manipulated the mouths so that they really look like they are speaking. It is great to see computer animation used properly. It adds to the over all look and feel without making this film look like nothing more than an effects movie.

Mr. and Mrs. Little have decided to adopt a boy as a brother for their son, George. When they go to the orphanage they fall in love with Stuart. Warned of interspecies adoption the Little's are determined to take Stuart home. Once Stuart gets home he quickly ends up in Snowbell, the cat's mouth. Snowbell is voiced by Nathan Lane. Told that he is now part of the family, the cat has to treat him as such and can not eat a family member, much to Snowbell's chagrin. Stuart is welcomed into the family by all the relatives except for George who can not understand how a mouse can be his brother. It isn't until Stuart helps George build his racing boat that he accepts him.

Snowbell upset about the situation asks the local street tough alley cat to remove Stuart, which he does. Eventually, Stuart has to escape and try to get home but runs afoul of all the tough cats who are out to eat him. Will he make it home, will he become cat snacks. Hey not likely he's the hero. The ending, of course, is charming and sweet and everyone will leave happy. But!!! Don't rush out because there are some funny scenes added on to the end credits.

So get ready to pile the kids into the car and head out to see STUART LITTLE as soon as it is released. Oh yeah, put a few bucks away to buy the video since it will be a keeper for your children. I can't get over that little bugger, he has such a cute face
