VINCE'S MOVIE REVIEWS
Satirical Comedy

First thing, let us get this out of the way. NO!! NO!! NO!! In no way is this film for children. Yes I know it is animated but no this film is for adults. Be aware that this film has over 350 occassions of foul langauge, it is full of sexual images and violence. In my opinion SOUTH PARK, BIGGER, LONGER AND UNCUT should have been restricted. Now that said...this was one of the funniest films this year. I howled through it. You wold swear that the writers were Canadian if you didn't know better.
Parker and Stone have written a story that definitely captures the difference between American and Canadian attitudes towards film and the media. Canadian television, for example, has been showing nudity and langauge for years while the American channels are just starting. Americans are really uptight about language on television where Canadian television tries to minimize violence on television/ So that is where the story in South Park comes from. Of course this whole scenario leads to a war between Canada and the United States. The producers were very careful not to show one side really winning, after all they wouldn't want to show us Canadians beating them again, right. Hey, really guys, we do apoligize for burning down the White House back in 1812 okay.
The story has the boys Cartman, Kenny, Stan et cetra going to catch the new Terrence and Phillip movie which was restricted to children but they get in anyway. They are a Canadian profane comedy team. When they walk out they have become human swear word dictionaries. The feces hits the fan when they all begin swearing as if it were normal. The other towns children get in and guess what, all the kids in town begin to expound foul language....and who do the mother's blame... not the theatre managers for letting them in...not the film producers for making the movie but they blamed the EVIL CANADIAN EMPIRE. The Mother's Against Canada force the government to kidnap Terrance and Philip which eventually leads to the Canadian air force bombing and eliminating the Baldwin Family. There were too many of them anyway. One thing leads to another and it becomes all out war. Meanwhile, Kenny who has been killed, as usual, is denied a Heavenly fate and is sent to Hell. The Hell sequences are really graphic and beautiful animated by computors. There Kenny discovers that that Satan and his lover, Suddam Hussein plan on taking over the world once the blood of Terrence and Phillip hits American soil. Somehow Kenny manages to deliver this threat to the boys so they must try to rescue the infamous actors from certain death, with the help of a renegade French Canadian boy.
Will they succeed????
I'm not telling.
This film is a musical as well and you know who has the only love song in this movie??? SATAN. Yes, Satan seems to be the only good guy in this film. You'll see why. This film has everything in it. Canadians are denounced and ridiculed, Jewish mothers are the villians, parents and teachers are stupid and myopic. Black soldiers are sacrificed rather than the white soldiers. Saddam has plenty of backdoor sex with Satan. Actually it does pretty good at offending everyone. Get past that fact that it is profane toilet humour and you will be on the way to a fun time. So if you like biting satire, that is well written and entertaining then go see SOUTH PARK, BIGGER, LONGER AND UNCUT. You will be glad you did. Trey parker and Matt Stone deserve congratulations for pushing the limits and making an entertaining movie.
