Nope, you can bribe me but I still won't tell you who the killer is this time....nope...uh uh...no way.
Like the press says this is a return to Woodsboro...or is it?? The story is simple. Hollywood is doing the
last "STAB" movie which of course this time it didn't really happen. Ahhh but it will happen. The killer is
using the script to kill the "Stab" actors. The actors and the director wants to make sure throughout the
story that this is a trilogy and not a sequel. In other words it is made clear that this is the last SCREAM.
They make it clear that the rules of a sequel do not apply to this movie. So everyone be ready for a thrill
ride of uncertainty.
SCREAM 3 is the first of the Scream movies that has an R rating in the US and an Adult
Accompaniment tag in Canada on it. Yes there is violence but not explicit and it has no nudity. The point of this third
and final installment is to figure out who the killer is and why this movie ends where it all began. All the
answers from previous movies are answered so there is a definite finality to this series. It will not be
easy to figure who the killer is in this one, but if you pay attention you might be able to guess. DO NOT tell
anyone who it is after you see this movie; don't spoil this for your friends.
One nice bit in this movie are the cameos by Roger Corman , Silent Bob and Jay from Dogma and
Mallrats. I even thought I saw Matthew Perry but I can't be certain. By the way an aside to
Courtney Cox... DO NOT WEAR YOUR HAIR BACK. Boy do her ears ever stick out. The only thing worse is that
hairstyle she wears. Even the characters in the movie make fun of it. Cox definitely has a great chemistry
when she's with David Arquette (her real life husband) and Parker Posey who plays Cox's part in the
"STAB 3, Return to Woodsboro" movie.
Obviously if I say too much about the plot here it would give away too many things that could surprise you.
Needless to say Sydney (Neve Campbell) is the at the core of everything as usual. She comes out of
hiding 3 and half years after leaving Windsor College. Sydney has been living in seclusion in Northern
California trying to forget by helping on a victims hotline. The killer finds out about her job and calls
her drawing her into the fray once more. She handles herself well and as usual it has to come down to her and the killer and of course this
time it's personal. This thriller raises troubling questions about past events that happened in the town
of Woodsboro
Jenny McCarthy has a nice part which spoofs "the girl is always naked before she gets killed" idea. Nah
sorry guys she is never naked in this one. I also see this is the last time she will be a blonde as she has
gone back to being a raven haired beauty so she can get more serious roles.
Lance Henriksen has a pivotal role as the movie producer who hired Sydney's mother...was Sydney's
mother an actress??? Hmmm!!
Carrie Fisher has the part of a film historian who yes resembles Carrie Fisher who is bitter that Lucas
did not pick her for the part of Princess Leia. Funny stuff there.
Mark Kincaid, an LAPD detective is hot on the trail of the killer and is determined not to let anyone hurt
Sydney. Hmm it always seems he appears right after the killer gets away....hmmm...And the killer is....
yeah right...go see it yourself.
