| Romantic Comedy Synopsis: A young copy editor gets a chance to become a reporter for a Chicago newspaper by going undercover in a High School. This is an ugly ducking turned princess love story. Drew Barrymore has returned again with another fun and entertaining film called Never Been Kissed, from Fox 2000 Pictures. Ms. Barrymore has chosen many of her recent films carefully and it shows with her many hits of late. Though this film is not as good as EVER AFTER it will do quite well. When I see a movie and the preview audience applaudes heartily at the end, you just know it will do very good. By the way it was nice to see a high school picture where I don't remember hearing anyone swear or anyone having sex, wow. This is a well plotted story of a young 25 year old Josie Geller (her parents thought it was cute to name her after a guitar playing pussycat...if you're at least 20 years old you'll get the joke okay) an excellent copy editor with the Chicago SunTimes newspaper. Her dream is to be a reporter. As luck would have it she gets her chance to do so by going undercover in a high school. She has to pretend to be a 17 year old student, so she can get a story. Unfortunately this brings back the horrible memories of her days in high school as the chunky, geeky. braced school klutz and nerd, "Josie Grossie" . It brings memories of her disasterous prom night which terrifies her. The story follows her attempts to be accepted in high school by the good looking people. There are some excellent funny sequences as we her turn from the prim and proper copy editor to the queen the prom. You will not get what you expect here by the way. During her attempts to get the story she has not realized that she has become the story. She falls in love with her teacher. She is sure this is the man for her but she will only know when he kisses her because you see she's NEVER BEEN KISSED I'm not going to tell you the end because it's the kind of ending I don't want to spoil for you. Make sure you take a significant other with you to this movie, because the movie may prove contagious. The money spent on this movie is worth while, go see it when it arrives in theatres.
