"Forces of Nature", is a story that is centered around a love triangle. This is definitely a date movie.
Yes that means you should take a significant other with you.
Romantic Comedy/Drama,
Synopsis:
Ben Affleck plays a New Yorker who has to travels to a distant city to marry his southern fiancee, Maura Tierney
(from NewsRadio).
En route he is destined to encounter some Forces Of Nature that will test his resolve to reach his destination and
ultimately his love for his fiancee. His obstacles begin with a plane crash and his meeting of Sandra Bullock a female
traveller with a similar destination. They both decide to rent a car and drive to Virginia. None to be had...a car rental
agent suggests that they should have booked. "Oh sure we should have planned on our plane crashing".
They hook up with a strange little man and continue on their journey. Mishap after mishap occur to throw these two away from
their destination and into each others arms such as falling trees, losing all their money and disabled buses. All these forces
conspire to slowly, help Ben realize he is falling in love with Sandra Bullock. When he asks questions about marriage from his
parents, friends and others he realizes that marriage to his fiancee is not what he wants. Even though everything conspires
to keep him away from his fiancee they eventually reach their destination during a hurricane which treatens to ruin the
wedding, but forces of nature have already threatened to ruin it.
Things are not always as they seem so expect surprises but not what you think. There are some nice special effects in this
movie when it concerns the weather. Watch carefully when it rains or the wind blows. The effects are so subtle you may
miss how, even though, the two are moving at normal speed the rain all around them falls in slow motion. It is really wierd to
watch but it makes the scenes seem so magical.
Watching Sandra Bullock in this film confirms to me what I have always felt about her. She is this generations Katherine
Hepburn. She always seems so natural on the screen. There are films she has been in that were not so hot (Speed 2) but she
has always shone through in every film she has been in. I really look forward to seeing any film she's in. Go see
FORCES OF NATURE it is well worth while.
It will probably be rated PG as it is safe for the entire family.
