Action/Adventure Synopsis: ENTRAPMENT starts off with a slam bang action sequence which puts all the wheels in motion for this film. I figured it was going to be boom-boom, fast paced action all the way through, but that is not the case. The film shows all the planning and intricate work that needs to be done for master thieves to carry out their daring robberies. The film does have "hold your breathe" sequences in this well paced movie. The plot consists of many twists and turns, deceptions and decit. Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones have magic together on the screen. Connery is master thief, Robert MacDougal who is being setup by an insurance investigator, Catherine Zeta-Jones. Well, maybe because things are not what they seem. Actually no one in this film are who they seem and that is what makes it good. The plots to steal all the different items that would eventually lead them to the master heist were very interesting and riveting. BUT... Going in I was expecting a different type of film, which did disappoint me a bit even though the film was well crafted and intriguing. I was geared up for slam bang action but this is not that type of film. I'm honestly of mixed mind about this film. I liked it and found it very entertaining but I felt slightly cheated because I did not feel it delivered the action that I was expecting. Since you know what to expect if you read this before seeing ENTRAPMENT I do not feel you will be disappointed. It is well worth seeing but do not expect it to set any box office records.
