PUSHING TIN
An irreverent look at the prevention of mid-air and mid-life collisions.
Comedy
Synopsis: This film is about control and losing control. Nick Falzone (John Cusak) plays an air traffic contrroller who is sharp and quick and top notch at his job but he is a total control freak. He pushes tin at a New York Terminal Radar Approach Control where we see men and women controlling peoples lives in the air. All this is done in a chaotic atmosphere, where they can snap at any time when the pressure of controlling these planes in the world's most congested air space, 7000 flights a day crowd this area of finite air space.

Into their lives comes Russell Bell (Billy Bob Thorton) and his alcholic wife. He is a motorcycle riding, half I ndian, half irishman cowby and a Zen Master. One of the funny scenes comes when we see a total insane stunt that Russell carries out. He stands under a landing plane and we see him buffetted like a puppet in the turbulence wake of a 747. It is a really spectacular scene. It would probably give a person a major rush. Nick and Russell become rivals that affect the lives of those close to them as things get out of hand. They put themselves in positions that could cost them their jobs, marriages and possibly their lives.

This is a pretty good film, not a classic but an interesting film. It is well worth the money so if you have the time... go for it.
