Dark Comedy DROP DEAD GORGEOUS takes place in a small Minnesota town where a teen beauty contest brings out the worst in the contestants. Everyone involved in the contest, the mothers, the daughters, the boyfriends all know that anything goes when it comes to winning. Everyone tries to win this beauty contest anyway they can. Denise Richards shines as the daughter of Kirstie Alley, a former contest winner. She is the spoiled little rich girl who knows how to suck up to the judges. Her main competition seems to come from Kirsten Dunst, the smart but sexy trailer park beauty who lives with her mother, Ellen Barkin. Of course there are other contestants who challenge these two. I must say that this film seemed to enthrall the audience. They were really into this film because it does have a very good story. I guess we are all mesmerized when we see a beauty contest and this film does just that to everyone. If you have the time you should go see it as I really do not think it will be arround long.
