Sci-Fi Horror
Science Tries To Improve Nature....Again!

The great think about B horror movies is that you go in with little expectations and so they are very rarely disappointing. I like going to cheesy horror films because I do not really have to think, so sometimes it is just relaxing to go see one. Did I enjoy BATS?? You betcha. It was just a fun movie to sit back and enjoy the silliness. I never once thought of the absurdity of the situation.
There have been lots of movies where some scientist, mad or otherwise, decides that he can improve nature. This is one of them. A scientist has some large mutated fox bats in his belfry and of course they escape. Yup you guessed it, they like to eat people and they can think as well. Of course they infect other bats so now we have thousands of these pesky flying rodents flying around... snacking.
Sheila Casper played by (b)Dina Meyer is sent to investigate the attacks with the town's Sheriff Emmett Kimsey played by Lou Diamond Phillips. After the bats attack the town, they have to find and destroy them before the winged terrors migrate to other parts of the country. Lots of messy scenes and nastiness for you to enjoy. The audience had lots of laughs and even shrieked a few times. Oh yeah make sure that you stay to the end titles for an interesting ending.
By the way even though most people are afraid of bats...remember they really are not maneaters, okay. I was up north one time pumping some gas into my car, on a windy day. Lots of leaves were blowing around and one landed on my hand. When I looked, there was a small fruit bat just sitting there on my hand. It actually let me rub it. You know their fur is really soft. Anyway it eventually flew away without biting, or doing anything else dangerous. Damn I thought I was going to turn into a vampire. Oh well!! Go enjoy the movie.
